Model 1060 Deep Ocean Transmissometer

The Marine Systems Technology, Inc. Model 1060 is specifically designed for high resolution performance in deep water operations.  A 1 meter path length allows detection of  very small changes in the beam attenuation along  a “folded” optical path.  This design  minimizes overall instrument length while providing a  long optical path using  an oil filled prism..

The 1060 Transmissometer features a green LED light source which is stabilized by a reference silicon photodetector that continuously monitors the LED and maintains its output at a constant level. Precision processing electronics, coupled with the stabilized LED source and the 1 meter path length allow the unit to achieve  very high sensitivity and stability.

Construction features a titanium housing for high corrosion resistance and light weight, coupled with stainless steel tie rods that provide a rigid optical frame.
